http://www.ballet.co.uk/magazines/yr_07/jan07/poll_results2006.htm

<2005年>

Best Production Overall: Roméo et Juliette (POB)

Best New Production: La Sylphide (RB)

Best Revival: Enigma Variations, Les Biches (RB)

Best Staging: Revelations (Alvin Ailey)

Best Home Company: Can't tell - once again I only got to see RB....

Best Visiting Company: Paris Opera Ballet

Best Male Dancer: Laurent Hilaire

Best Female Dancer: Aurélie Dupont

Best Partnership: A. Dupont & J. G. Bart (Cendrillon); U. Lopatkina &
J. G. Bart (Diamonds)

Most Promising Male

Most Promising Female

Worst Production: Three Songs Two Voices (RB)

Special Mention: Good - RB ladies' delicious performances in Les Biches –
nonchalant flapper girls' innocent smiles disguised intense eroticism; RB's
Nutcracker – with Yoshida as SPF this production made one believe “God is
in the details” - indeed!; memory of POB dancers under the star-lit sky in
Southern France, once again having an opportunity to see Bejart's Le Chant de
compagnon errant; POB's visit to the capital after the long absence, showing the
company's quality in the work made-to-measure for them; artistry of L. Hilaire,
who despite the half-retired status was stilll going strong and retained an
unsurpassed magnetism on stage; A. Dupont continued to show maturity and
seemed to gain strength and wisdom as a classical dancer; D. Vishneva &
A. Fadeyev in R&J – a night to remember, when a rare theatrical magic
happened; U. Lopatkina & J.G. Bart in Diamonds – a match made in heaven;
seeing Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for the first time made me kick
myself - Where were you all my life?? (Although of course they had been
around c. 1958!); a versatile and quality programming of Sadlers Wells.
Bad: That I did't fall in love with much-admired RDB, at the first encounter;
maybe next time! Kirov's Shades scene in La Bayadere this summer; at least
two of the Shades' arabesque-penché was too deep their raised legs
looked as if stabbed knives stood above the ground at 75-80 degrees;
a horrendous sight! A worrying sign I never noticed on their previous visit;
a price they had to pay for dancing contemporary choreography such as Forsythe's?

Eye-opener of the Year: Frederick Ashton (since the previous season, actually) –
To think how fortunate British ballet is to have his legacy – a kind any other
major international ballet company could only envy....
POB etoile Jean-Guillaume Bart; A shame but didn't quite realise until last year
that he was very, truly, purely, classical, dancer.

Best Production Overall: POB's Balanchine Programme

Best New Production: Bolshoi's Pharaoh's Daughter

Best Revival: Le Chant du Compagnon Errant (in Tokyo)

Best Staging: 4T/Prodigal Son/Liebeslieder Walzer (POB)

Best Home Company: Cannot comment as I failed to see no one but RB!

Best Visiting Company: Bolshoi

Best Male Dancer: Laurent Hilaire

Best Female Dancer: Aurelie Dupont

Best Partnership: Legris & Ludieres; Hilaire & Romoli

Most Promising Male

Most Promising Female: Aurore Cordellier (POB)

Worst Production: Pavane, Glacial Decoy (POB)

Special Mention: Balanchine Centenary was well served by both sides of the chunnel,
I thought, particularly seeing POB's take on Mr. B's works turned a mind-blowing
experience - it was the personal highlight of the season. Other dancers who
brightened up my days were: The one & only Uliana Lopatkina in a divine form as
tormented heroine, Nikiya, partnered by Igor Zelensky, who was a golden Apollo
in the same gala; ever so radiant Diana Vishneva in Ratmansky's Cinderella in
Tokyo; Vladimir Malakhov's eerie & unforgettable Le Spectre de la rose in
Benois gala; Acosta & Guillem's Prodigal Son, a thrilling combination of fire &
ice; two of delightful & exceptional danseurs noble who were good at everything
they did - Sergey Filin of Bolshoi & Jose Martinez of POB; POB's newest etoile
Mathieu Ganio, clearly blessed with a gift to become a tremendous ballet star
of the next generations despite a much controversial promotion drama; the last
but not the least - Bolshoi's irreplaceable corps & character dancers, who
renewed my passions and faith in classical ballets.

Eye-opener of the Year: Maurice Bejart - Seeing revivals of his work "Le Chant du
Compagnon Errant" danced by two of the finest male talent today, Hilaire & Legris,
and "Lumiere", the documentary film featuring the long interview with him, once
again fuelled my desire to know this choreographer and see his works more. Also
my heartfelt thanks to NFT, whose summer showings introduced to me late Anton
Dolin, "the first British danseur noble of the 20th century" - what a character!
I felt ashamed not having known him all this time.....
